1975

|

Verse 1:
In 1975, it was an interesting place.
Equality was still emerging between sex & race.
That & decent government were coming rather late.
But new technology grew rapidly in its early state.
Chorus:
There were a hell of ups, & a hell of downs.
There were many the smiles, and there were many the frowns.
And music struck the cities all year round,
because the music back then had a pretty great sound.
Verse 2:
Communications grew because they could.
Science made many advances because it should.
Equality began to rise we knew it would.
Overall, progress was made, and that's understood.
Chorus:
There were a hell of ups, & a hell of downs.
There were many the smiles, and there were many the frowns.
And music struck the cities all year round,
because the music back then had a pretty great sound.

Chorus:
I'll wait another day for it to go away.
It never seems to work at all.
Waiting for some happy news while sitting here singing the blues.
But I can barely see my breath in this fog.
Verse 1:
At an old man's spiteful rule, we're treated like a fool.
The meaning in our lives is rather blurred.
But rebellion's on the rise and the old man meets his demise.
And better lives are coming, we realize.
Prechorus:
(Uh-huh) By the marking on my feet, when those words & letters meet,
they say I'm property of someone else.
(Uh-huh) But I'm not a worthless clone, neither a mindless working drone.
I've more emotions than you'll ever know.
Chorus:
I'll wait another day for it to go away.
It never seems to work at all.
Waiting for some happy news while sitting here singing the blues.
But I can barely see my breath in this fog.
It never seems to work at all. (It never seems to work at all.)
Verse 2:
'Find myself in a different world after I am hastily hurled
from a life that sees a burden in my presence.
But somehow the tables turned and soon I find myself the rightful
ruler of the place that threw me out.
It never seems to work at all.

Each Day
03:35
|
|||
Verse 1:
It's another day.
And everyone here's playing the same game.
The government here wants us to conform.
But I'll still flip off this societal norm.
Pre-chorus:
Abortion clinics went away.
Gay rights laws still at a compromised dent.
And we lost historical places in the towns of which we used to love.
We lost freedom in the towns we used to love.
Chorus:
And I won't let this be unseen.
Where went our rights as a human being?
Each day is all the same, & very few escape this frame.
Verse 2:
There's the governor.
He's taking money from the children's schools.
Giving it to wealthy friends & family.
Hey there, Scott Walker, have you no decency?
[Instrumental Bridge]
Chorus:
And I won't let this be unseen.
Where went our rights as a human being?
Each day is all the same, & very few escape this frame.

Look Into The Mirror
02:36
|
|||
Verse 1:
When you look into the mirror (What do you see?)
Are you looking at a human or a stigma.
And do you brush off what is said? (if bad things are said?)
Their words might as well be dead.
Chorus:
Well, perfection is opinion, & opinions hurt
when they're forced right upon you for shame.
Well, perfection is twisted in many people's eyes
they think everyone should be the same.
And that's not ok.
Verse 2:
When you think about yourself (What do you hear?)
Is it your voice saying it's all ok,
or is it other people laughing? (Laughing at you?)
They don't know better anyways.
Chorus:
Well, perfection is opinion, & opinions hurt
when they're forced right upon you for shame.
Well, perfection is twisted in many people's eyes
they think everyone should be the same.
And that's not ok.
[Instrumental Bridge]
Chorus:
Well, perfection is opinion, & opinions hurt
when they're forced right upon you for shame.
Well, perfection is twisted in many people's eyes
they think everyone should be the same.
And that's not ok.

No Sleep in Wisconsin
02:25
|
|||
It's 9:20 in the PM, and the news is going on about Milwaukee's gun violence.
It's all just: Death. Death. Death. And the
protests here against it all are just as harmful as our fall; We've no sleep on these worn out streets at all.
And so there ain't no sleep in Wisconsin.
We don't have any peace at all.
Between the guns, cold weather, and the alcohol.
There ain't no sleep in Wisconsin from Port Washington to Sheboygan Falls on any night.
And so there ain't no sleep in Wisconsin.
We don't have any peace at all.
Between the guns, cold weather, and the alcohol.
There ain't no sleep in Wisconsin from Port Washington to Sheboygan Falls on any night.
And so there ain't no sleep in Wisconsin.
We don't have any peace at all.
Between the guns, cold weather, and the alcohol.
There ain't no sleep in Wisconsin for all.

Sexuality
02:22
|
|||
In this modern day & age, progress is made.
More of us are understanding more concepts these day.
What's really right & wrong is becoming more apparent.
But a few of us are still transparent.
The more we know, the safer we can be.
'Cause when risk is around, information is key.
But we can't progress if information is withheld.
The youth will simply defy if they simply don't know:
It ain't vulgar despite what they say.
It ain't vulgar. Hell, it's A-OK.
It ain't vulgar despite what they say.
It ain't vulgar. Hell, it's A-OK.

This Decade is Dead
03:22
|
|||
Verse:
The message is now clear as day.
But how clear is day in this weather.
Mixed signals in politics.
America's a bunch of hypocrites.
Society can't get a grasp of
how we've still a long way to go
human rights still in a primitive state
And every one here holds some kind of hate.
The kids these days don't understand
There's now an ever increasing demand for
interdependence in the workforce, but
half these kids are on their phones.
They're hearing past the metronomes of
constant productivity they
take to long rebelling, which
flops they're campaign for individuality
Where's reality?
Their minds are focused begging for what
no one's reached cause no one could
It's ahead of them, but they refuse
Because the world's been handed to them
They are not prepared to be cut
off from this false lifeline
which they expect all of everything from.
And culture's drained away
Anything not immediately trending
seems as it it's never existed.
Music now is bland as hell,
video games are repetitive,
and the culture's drained away every day.
Chorus (x4):
No matter what is said, this decade is dead.
& no one can change what's inside of my head,
unless you get these robots out of the industry,
they shouldn't be mainstream.
